Features

Everything the service department needs, built on Shopify.

Nine features, all included. Each one exists because a shop like yours was already doing that job on paper.

01

Work orders

Create service work orders on any device, add labor and parts, set an estimated completion date against the day's real capacity, and follow every job from drop-off to pickup.

  • Four steps, no trainingCustomer, bike, ready date, work. A new tech can write a clean ticket on their first shift.
  • Capacity-aware ready datesThe date picker shows how many work orders are already booked on each day, so you can pick one that still has room instead of guessing.
  • Labor and parts on one ticketPull parts straight from your Shopify catalog, add labor lines, and the customer sees one running total.
  • Photos, video, and notesDocument a cracked frame or a worn cassette before you touch it. Internal notes stay internal.

Customer portal

Every work order gets a private link, texted to the customer automatically the first time you send an update and again when the bike is ready. Customers see status, line items, and photos, and can reply with questions, cutting the 'is my bike ready yet?' phone calls.

  • No app, no passwordThe signed link in the text is the whole credential. It opens on any phone in one tap.
  • Two-way messagingAnswer questions and send photos of what you found. Replies land on the work order, not a personal phone.
  • Approve the extra workSend a photo of the worn chainring and get a yes before the wrench turns. No surprise line items at pickup.
  • Automatic pickup noticeMark it done and the customer gets the text. The link closes itself once the bike is collected.

Special orders

Take a special order at the register or from a work order line, buy it from the clipboard or claim it off a stock order you already placed, and follow it through arrival, the hold shelf, and pickup. The deposit is on record, the customer gets a text when it lands, and a hold tag goes on the box.

  • Taken at the register or on the ticketA New Special Order tile on the POS smart grid for the customer at the counter, or flag a line on a work order. Either way it lands on the clipboard as something to buy.
  • Five stops, in the shop's own wordsRequested, ordered, arrived, ready, picked up. The list sorts into the buckets a shop actually works: ready for pickup, just arrived, on order, to order.
  • Claim it off an order you already placedIf the part is already on a stock purchase order, claim that line for the customer instead of buying it twice. If it turns out to be on the shelf, fulfil it from stock.
  • The customer hears the moment it landsWhen a part goes on the hold shelf, ShopTech asks how the customer should find out and sends the text. Every send, and every failure, goes on the timeline, so nothing sits on a shelf unannounced.

Supplier catalog

Search every connected supplier at the same time by name, part number, or barcode. See who has it, at which warehouse, and at what cost, with the best price marked, then send the part straight to a purchase order.

  • One search, every supplierType it once and every connected supplier answers at the same time. Nobody opens four websites to find a cassette.
  • Stock and cost, side by sideCurrent availability and your cost line up next to each other with the best price marked, down to which regional warehouse actually has it.
  • Name, part number, or barcodeSearch by product name or manufacturer part number, or scan the barcode off the empty box.
  • Straight onto a purchase orderPick the supplier you want and the part lands on a purchase order with the cost already filled in.

Purchasing

Capture what the shop needs on a shared clipboard, turn it into purchase orders, send them to the supplier directly where supported, receive against them, and keep special orders linked to the work order that's waiting on the part.

  • The clipboardAnyone can add a part: by scan, by search, or as a plain note. Nothing gets written on a scrap of cardboard and lost.
  • Special orders that stay attachedA part ordered for a repair stays linked to that work order, so receiving it tells you whose bike can move.
  • Orders sent straight to the supplierFor suppliers that support it, the purchase order goes from ShopTech to the supplier with one tap. No re-keying it into their website, no second copy to check.
  • Partial receivingReceive what showed up, keep the rest on order, and print labels for the box you just opened.

Inventory

Browse products and on-hand quantities across all your Shopify locations, run stocktakes from the floor with a scanner, and create products without leaving the counter.

  • On-hand across locationsOne lookup tells you whether the part is here, at the other store, or at the supplier.
  • Stocktakes from the floorScan, count, complete. Open counts stay open across shifts, so you can do the back room on a slow Tuesday.
  • Create products at the counterNew product, new variant, new barcode, written straight to Shopify.
  • Barcode and label printingPrint product labels and item tags in the sizes you actually use, straight from the counter. Turn on auto-print and labels come out for whatever just landed against a purchase order.

Printing

Print drop-off and pickup receipts, item tags, and product barcode labels from whatever device you're holding. The ShopTech print client runs on a computer in the shop and prints to any printer attached to it, silently, including jobs that fire on their own.

  • Print from any deviceiPad, phone, or desktop browser. The job goes to the ShopTech print client on a computer in the shop, so the printer doesn't have to be AirPrint or plugged into the device in your hand.
  • Any printer you already ownReceipt printers, label printers, and the office laser. If a Mac or Windows PC on the network can print to it, ShopTech can.
  • Receipts, item tags, and hold tagsDrop-off receipts, pickup receipts, item tags for the bike on the stand, and a hold tag for the special order box on the shelf.
  • Product labelsBarcode labels in the sizes you actually use, for a new product, a stocktake, or the box you just opened.

Web orders

Browse unfulfilled online orders, fulfill them in part or in full, add tracking, and handle in-store pickups from the same device you write work orders on.

  • Fulfill from the counterFilter to unfulfilled, pick the order, fulfill what's in the box. Ship what's here now and the rest when it lands.
  • In-store pickup, called outOrders for collection are flagged as pickup on sight, so the counter can tell what's waiting to be handed over from what needs to go in a box.
  • Tracking and notificationsAttach a carrier and tracking number and send the shipping confirmation as you go.

Shopify POS

ShopTech is a separate app built on top of Shopify. It installs from the Shopify App Store and puts work order tiles on the POS smart grid, while products, customers, inventory, and payment stay in Shopify, so there is no second catalog to reconcile.

  • Smart grid tilesNew Work Order, Complete Work Orders, New Special Order, and Special Orders sit on the POS home screen next to your other tiles.
  • Checkout in ShopifyCompleting a work order hands the labor and parts to the POS cart, so payment, tax, and reporting stay native.
  • One catalog, one customer listParts come from your Shopify products. Customers are your Shopify customers. Nothing is duplicated.
  • Multi-location and staff rolesPer-location access, staff permissions, device pairing, and a PIN lock for the shared counter iPad.
